This action can be done through active and conscious participation and ensuring well-being. In order to determine how to meet the necessary conditions for it, the present study was conducted to investigate the factors affecting the economic empowerment of villagers in East Azerbaijan province using a survey research method. For this purpose, a researcher-made questionnaire was drafted. After testing the face validity (by experts) and reliability (by pilot study), 384 household heads were selected as a sample from the statistical population. Cochran's formula was employed to calculate the minimum required sample size. Stratified random sampling method with proportional assignment was applied to select the samples. Data analysis was performed through SPSS software. The results of regression and path analysis showed that 55.9 percent of the dependent variable’s variation was explained using seven factors, including "access to the credits", "conduction of the Hadi Plan", "ecological sustainability", "access to information resources", "agricultural experience", "purchasing power of agricultural inputs", and "accumulation of loan". Based on the conclusions, some applicable suggestions were provided to improve and strengthen the economic empowerment of villagers. توانمندسازی اقتصادی روستاییان موجب افزایش کیفیت زندگی آنان، به‌ویژه گروه های محروم می شود. این امر باید از طریق مشارکت فعال و آگاهانه آنان جهت تأمین رفاه خودشان انجام گیرد. از این رو، جهت تعیین چگونگی احراز شرایط لازم برای آن، مطالعه حاضر با هدف بررسی عوامل مؤثر بر توانمندی اقتصادی روستاییان در استان آذربایجان شرقی با بهره گیری از روش پژوهش پیمایشی انجام گرفت. بدین منظور، پرسشنامه ی محقق ساخته ای تدوین شد. پس از آزمون روایی به‌صورت روایی صوری و آزمون پایایی به روش مطالعه پیشاهنگ از 384 سرپرست خانوار روستایی به‌عنوان نمونه ای از خانوارهای جامعه آماری در کل استان تکمیل شد. برای محاسبه تعداد نمونه از فرمول کوکران استفاده شد و جهت انتخاب آن ها از روش نمونه گیری تصادفی طبقه ای و با انتساب متناسب بهره گیری شد. تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها از طریق نرم‌افزار SPSS انجام گرفت. نتایج رگرسیون و تحلیل مسیر نشان داد که 55/9 درصد از تغییرات متغیر وابسته با هفت عامل: "میزان دسترسی به اعتبارات"، "اجرای طرح هادی"، "میزان پایداری اکولوژیکی"، "میزان دسترسی به منابع اطلاعاتی"، "میزان تجربه کشاورزی"، "میزان قدرت خرید نهاده های کشاورزی" و "میزان انباشتگی مبالغ درخواست وام"، تبیین شدند. در این پژوهش بر اساس نتیجه گیری ها، پیشنهادهایی برای بهبود توانمندی اقتصادی روستاییان ارائه شدهاند.
