In this study, first, the production status of major medicinal plants in Fars Province and the current status of businesses in the medicinal plant sector in the province were identified, and then the medicinal plants that are suitable for creating businesses and investing in Fars Province were evaluated. In the last stage, the priorities of businesses and investment opportunities in the three areas of production, service and processing of medicinal plants in Fars Province were assessed and determined. The assessment tool in the two qualitative and quantitative stages was an open and closed researcher-made questionnaire, and the statistical population included: those involved in the medicinal plant industry of the province, experts, merchants, leading operators, promoters and relevant university professors. The results of the study showed that saffron in regions one, two and four; rosehip in regions one, two and four; garden thyme and Shirazi in regions two and three; black cumin in regions one and three and angoze and aloe vera in region five have the first and second priorities, and there are the most investment opportunities in these plants. On the other hand, the analysis of production businesses showed that businesses related to the direct cultivation of medicinal plants using modern agricultural methods . planting seedlings, irrigation and pruning, weeding and systematic harvesting) are the first priority of businesses for investment. The regional results of medicinal plant processing businesses also showed that the top innovative businesses for investment development in Region 1 are: saffron processing (drying and packaging) with new methods, in Region 2: saffron drying and packaging, in Region 3: traditional thyme processing (spirits and teas) and drying and packaging fresh and dried plants, in Region 4: drying, packaging, with new methods (saffron flowers and stigmas); in Region 5: drying and packaging of angustifolia with modern technologies .
